Title I - PROVISIONS OF THE CODE
CHAPTER I - Promotion of Prescription-Only Medicines
1. MARKETING AUTHORIZATION FOR MEDICINES
1.1. A medicine cannot be promoted prior to the granting of the marketing authorization allowing it commercialization. This prohibition also covers medicines that, while authorized in another country, have not obtained commercialization authorization in Spain. This precept, however, does not place a limit on the right of the scientific community to be fully informed of medical and scientific progress, nor does it restrict the complete and appropriate exchange of scientific information related to medicines or medicinal products, included among which is the appropriate and objective disclosure of research findings in scientific media and scientific congresses.
1.2. All parts of the advertising of a medicinal product must be consistent with the information contained in the applicable summary of product characteristics and with the approved indications.
